DEANHRYCUN is Wildfire Technologist with Alberta Environment andSustainable Resource Development, Forestry and Emergency Response Division –Fort McMurray Wildfire Management Area.  Dean holds a Commerce Degree from the UniversityAlberta, and a Honours Diploma in Forest Technology from the Northern AlbertaInstitute of Technology.  In 2013, DeanHrycun joined Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development,educating local industry on legislation, policy, and best-practices of wildfireprevention. Dean is currently the Area FireSmart Coordinator, working withvarious stakeholders and communities to implement FireSmart initiatives toreduce the threat of wildfires to, and from, communities and industry.
