FAREENA RAHIM is the Director of Policy, Strategy and Governance in the Regulatory Initiatives Group of the Global Banking & Markets division of The Bank of Nova Scotia.   In her role, Fareena is responsible for assessing the impact of new regulatory changes for Global Banking and Markets, project governance, policy and implementation oversight. She also provides subject matter expertise and thought leadership to the project teams and Front Office across Global Banking & Markets regulatory initiatives, and serves as a Scotiabank representative in key industry associations.  Mrs. Rahim joined The Bank of Nova Scotia in 1998 as an Operations Manager and has held progressively senior roles. She has been instrumental in developing and managing transactional documentation for over-the-counter derivatives, central clearing and the establishment of the Bank’s derivative collateral management program. Previously, Fareena has worked for Canadian and International banking institutions in both middle office and strategy divisions. Fareena holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Toronto and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration degree in Financial Services at Dalhousie University.
