GORDON PEERYis the Global Derivatives Advisor at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. He is alecturer, author and leading authority in over-the-counter derivatives andfutures and works exclusively in this area. As the Global Derivatives Advisorin BLG's leading Derivatives Group, Gordon counsels clients in the investmentmanagement, energy, oil and gas, commodities, real estate, corporate andfinancial services industries. His clients include institutional investors,fund complexes, 1940 Act funds and hedge funds, Fortune 500 companies,utilities, providers of oil, gas, natural gas and electricity, banks, realestate developers and REITs, as well as sovereign funds. Gordon has writtensuccessful requests for no-action relief to regulators, has counseled staff ofcongressmen relating to the Dodd-Frank Act and has appeared before the U.S.Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on several occasions to interfacedirectly with the chairman and commissioners and advocate protective andpractical solutions to some of the problems experienced in the 2008 marketcrises. As a principal central part of his practice, Gordon advises clients oncross-border, international issues and derivatives. Gordon has lived overseasand speaks Japanese.
