RENA SHADOWITZ is Senior Counsel & Director of BMO Financial Group. As a member of BMO’s Legal, Corporate and Compliance (LCCG) Regulatory Group, Rena is responsible for advising BMO Financial Group on changes in Canadian and US securities, futures and derivatives laws and regulations. Since July 2011 she has been engaged exclusively in BMO Capital Markets’ implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act with a particular focus on the Volcker Rule and the regulation of over-the-counter derivatives. Prior to her current role, Rena advised BMO Capital Markets and BMO Private Client Group on securities law issues, with an emphasis on trading, registration, derivatives and cross-border regulatory issues.  Before joining BMO Rena practiced in the Corporate/Securities group at Torys LLP.  Rena received her Bachelor of Commerce (Finance), B.C.L. and LL.B from McGill University and is admitted to the New York Bar and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
