RONALD PODOLNY is an associate in thelitigation group of McCarthy Tétrault in Toronto. He has a broad litigationpractice that includes corporate/commercial, securities, class actions andmedical malpractice matters. Mr. Podolny has represented corporations in themanufacturing, mining, real estate, technology and financial services sectorsin a variety of court and regulatory proceedings. He regularly representsphysicians in professional negligence and discipline cases, before courts aswell as regulatory and appellate tribunals. He has also appeared at all levelsof court in Ontario, as well as before the Federal Court, the Federal Court ofAppeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Mr. Podolny has written on a variety oftopics in commercial litigation. His articles have been published in theAdvocates Quarterly, Canadian Business Law Journal, Lexpert, The LawyersWeekly, Global Insolvency & Restructuring Review and other leading industryand academic publications. His writings have been cited with approval bycourts, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He speaks regularly on topicsregarding constitutional and commercial litigation. Mr. Podolny is an adjunctprofessor at the Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, where he teaches acourse on assessment of litigation and regulatory risk.
