DONMERCER is currently a Board Member and Vice president Responsiblefor Federal Matters and Chair, Financial Services Issues Committee with theConsumers Council of Canada. Professionally, he has held positions such as:Assistant Deputy Commissioner responsible for Pacific and Yukon Region(Vancouver), from 2004 to 2007; ADC responsible for Ontario Region (Toronto andHamilton) from 2000 to 2003; Several positions between 1972 to 2000 with theNational Capital Region focusing on Compliance and Coordination, Civil Mattersand Criminal Matters. He worked at the Competition Bureau of Canada from 1972to 2007, and was Assistant Professor, Economics, with the University ofLethbridge, Alberta from 1971 to 1972. In the recent past, he has held thefollowing volunteer leadership: President; Board Member – Chair, Nominationsand Governance Committee and Secretary. For 2010 and 2011, he was a Member ofthe External Stakeholder Advisory Committee with the Financial Consumer Agencyof Canada.
