JOEL SANCHEZ is AssetManager with City of Lethbridge. Born and raised in Venezuela, Joel relocated toCanada in 2006 with his family. He received his undergraduate degree inMechanical Engineering in 1999 at the University of Carabobo and completed hisProject Management Certification in 2009 at the University of Calgary. Joel hasbeen employed with the City of Lethbridge since February, 2011. As theCorporate Asset Manager, his responsibilities include the implementation andmanagement of the Community Asset Management Program (CAMP). Additionally, heprovides strategic infrastructure advice to various Lethbridge Business Unitsregarding their asset portfolio and asset management best practices. Joel hasdevoted his professional time to the creation and development of theInfrastructure Asset Management Alberta (IAMA) group, of which he is currentlyChair. He is an active member of the infrastructure asset management community,and advocates for responsible infrastructure management through his committeeinvolvement, industry membership and presentations to numerous municipalitiesand associations. Prior to starting his career with the City of Lethbridge,Joel amassed more than 10 years of experience in the Food Industry in the areasof asset management and continuous improvement projects. He has worked for anassortment of multinational companies such as Nestle, Ron Santa Teresa andPhelps Dodge International, being recognized for his engineering and projectmanagement skills. Joel currently resides in Lethbridge, Alberta. He has abeautiful young family with his wife, Natty, and their three children; 9 yearold son, Sebastian, 3 year old daughter, Gabriella, and 2 years old son,Santiago. He enjoys the outdoors, baseball, and traveling around the world.
