SAMANTHAESPLEY isthe General Manager of the Mines and MillsTechnical Services group at Vale Limited with an extensive team of engineers,geologists, technologists and administration staff, providing technicalexpertise at the operating mines and mills in Sudbury, Ontario. Samantha hasmore than 20 years of experience in underground hard rock mining at Denison,Dome, Falconbridge, Noranda, Inco and Vale. She has held roles in thetechnical, operations and management domains on the mining and mineralprocessing.  Samantha participated on theexecutive boards of Science North, the CIM Sudbury Branch, WISE Sudbury, and isa strong supporter of the Women in Mining group. She participated with CAMIRO,MIRARCO and CEMI with the strong focus on research and development projects toenable safe, deep mining.  Samantha is aboard member of the Bharti School of Engineering at Laurentian University andis the recent recipient of the Women in Mining Canada’s Trailblazer Award, Top100 Global Inspiring Women in Mining, and the Mid-Career Achievement Award fromthe University of Toronto’s Engineering Alumni Association.
