KELLIELEITCH isthe Minister of Labour and Status of Women.Minister Leitch waselected to the House of Commons in May 2011 and was appointed as Minister ofLabour and Minister of Status of Women in July 2013. She previously served asParliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources and SkillsDevelopment and to the Minister of Labour since May 2011.  Dr. Leitch earned her Doctorate of Medicinefrom the University of Toronto in 1994 and her MBA from Dalhousie University in1998. She has also been recognized with the Order of Ontario for her advocacywork on behalf of Canadian children.  Throughouther career in the medical profession, as a volunteer, and now in public life,Dr. Leitch has made it a priority to help address the unique challenges thatwomen and girls face. She is particularly well-qualified to lead Status ofWomen Canada and its collaborative efforts to make progress for all women andgirls in our country.
